Moana at Disney's Aulani!

Moana’s travels take her to many exciting destinations – and one of her favorites is Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa. Now, you can visit with the Disney heroine during a new premium experience!

During “Kakamora Chaos with Moana” at Aunty’s Beach House, Moana is eager to learn more about her new friends, especially the games they play. During the interactive 90-minute experience, young Guests will learn to play children’s games from Hawai‘i, as well as a game from Moana’s home island of Motunui: the Kakamora Relay!

There are other fun ways to see Moana during her visits to Aulani Resort. Join Moana and Aulani Resort’s beloved storyteller “Uncle” as they share the importance of the canoe—or wa‘a—during Kahakai Canoe Racing. The interactive activity concludes after building a canoe model and racing in the lagoon!

In the evenings, resort Guests may choose to wind down around the fire pit as Moana and Uncle recount tales of adventure during Mo‘olelo Firepit Storytelling. Guests attending the the resort’s KA WA‘A lū‘au will also be delighted when Moana makes a special appearance during the lively pre-show, which pays homage to the incredible journey the Hawaiian people made across the ocean.

New ‘Moana’ Experiences at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa

Disney’s newest heroine, Moana, has arrived at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa. Experience the spirit of adventure and wonder of Hawai’i with fun-filled activities, enchanting storytelling, a special makeover, character greeting moments and more!

“Moana” is the story of an adventurous teenage girl who teams up with the demigod Maui on a daring mission to fulfill her ancestors’ unfinished quest as she sails among the islands of Oceania to save her people.

Say Aloha to Moana! Moana has arrived at Aulani and is delighted to share stories, hugs and snapshots with resort guests. Aulani guests can check the Daily ‘Iwa for meeting times and locations.  

Mo‘olelo Fireside Stories with Moana.  At the edge of the sea – surrounded by the enchantment of O’ahu –  guests can gather by the fire pit as Aulani’s beloved storyteller “Uncle” brings legends of the island to life.  Moana  will join as she recounts her own tales.  

Uncle’s Kahakai Canoe Race. At Pau Hana Community Hall is where Uncle shares the fascinating lore of the wa’a or Hawaiaan canoe – an essential part of Polynesian culture and history. Then, you can unleash your inner explorer and take to the ocean in a fun and spirited canoe race the whole family can enjoy. 

Moana Makeover . Young Guests can discover their inner adventurer with a Moana-inspired makeover in Painted Sky – our teen spa. They’ll make a splash with a themed costume, styled hair, manicure, pedicure and makeup.

New Experiences coming to Aulani!

Hawaii’s top family beach resort is celebrating their 5th anniversary! With the anniversary comes an exciting announcement: they will be adding new Guest experiences that will debut later this year at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa!

Starting in November, KA WA‘A, a luau at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa will bring epicurean dining and imaginative entertainment to guests.  Luau Guests can feast on a sumptuous, local island buffet and enjoy lively music and traditional Hawaiian dance, including hula kahiko and modern hula ‘auana. Before the luau, you will have the opportunity to enjoy special pre-show entertainment, family activities, traditional crafts and more.

Also in November, Moana, from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ film “Moana,” will arrive at Aulani to meet with Guests and recount tales of adventure. The animated feature film is about an adventurous teenager who, with help from demigod Maui, sails out on a canoe for a daring mission to prove herself a master wayfinder and save her people. 

Both new experiences are inspired by Hawaii’s deep cultural roots in canoe exploration—a voyage which brought Hawaiian ancestors to the beautiful ‘Ewa Loa plains surrounding Aulani.
