Special After-Hour Nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to Celebrate Park’s 30th Anniversary, Star Wars May the Fourth

The countdown has begun!   It is less than one week away from kicking off the first of two exciting celebration nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios® followed by even more  Disney After Hours dates at the park. Here is what you can expect during a Disney After Hours night at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

On May 1 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, celebrate three decades worth of movie magic and super heroic action with the celebration of the park’s 30th anniversary.  At the event, you will be able to meet Disney and Disney•Pixar pals and Star Wars favorites for special photo opportunities.  Also, experience little to no-wait on park favorites, including The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, Toy Story Land attractions and more.

There will also be a special encore performance of “Wonderful World of Animation” taking place exclusively for event attendees.  And special 30th anniversary merchandise will be available for purchase on May 1 as well as a slew of special anniversary food & beverage items, including Kylo Ren Cupcakes, Incredibles Macarons, Tres Leches Verrine and many more.  

On May 4,  Star Wars fans of all ages won’t want to miss this year’s celebration of May the Fourth at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  During the night, you will have the opportunity to encounter Chewbacca with Rey, Kylo Ren with Captain Phasma and more at the park! There will also be themed merchandise and special treats available for purchase. 

*Guests should be sure their costume fits within these park guidelines.

Following these special celebration nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, there are several added Disney After Hours event dates you should know about.   If you aren’t familiar with Disney After Hours events, they’re your opportunity to experience the magic of a Disney theme park for three hours after regular park hours, with limited attendance, which means little-to-no wait for attractions, experiences and character greetings.

Disney Villains Take Center Stage at Select Disney After Hours Nights Events at Magic Kingdom Park

Disney After Hours has been a huge success with Guests looking for the opportunity to experience the magic at Magic Kingdom® Park after the sun goes down. There will be a new reason to delve into the delights of Disney After Hours this summer – Disney Villains will add a wicked twist to Disney After Hours event nights June 6 - August 8, 2019!

In case you aren’t familiar, Disney After Hours is a special event that’s open to a limited number of Guests and offers low wait times at more than 20 attractions and experiences after the park closes to day Guests, from classics like the Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Space Mountain, to newer favorites like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, plus many more. Event tickets also allow entry as early as 7 p.m., which gives you time to enjoy fireworks before heading off to the attractions. Ice cream novelties, popcorn and select bottled beverages are also included in the cost of admission.

This summer, Disney Villains After Hours will take on a wickedly fun villains theme, with exclusive entertainment, food & beverage, merchandise and more.

Here’s a taste of what new elements to expect:

• A Brand-New Disney Villains Stage Show – Hades and Meg from “Hercules” will set the castle stage ablaze in this all-new stage show, Villains Unite the Night, which will also feature appearances by Jafar, The Queen, Dr. Facilier and Maleficent.
• Spot Maleficent the Dragon –  Maleficent the Dragon, with her Steampunk style and signature wicked grin, will be let loose for the first time at night – breathing fire as she creeps through the park as a one-of-a-kind experience for party Guests.
• Villanous Enhancements: Discover surprising, villain-inspired additions at Pirates of the Caribbean and Space Mountain.
• Wickedly Good Food & Beverage -A variety of special food & beverage offerings will also be available for purchase, including tasty desserts, drinks and dishes inspired by The Queen, Cruella de Vil, Maleficent, Hades, Dr. Facilier and even Emperor Zurg.
• Event Merchandise – Event attendees can also purchase new logo merchandise, as well as items from a curated collection of the best Disney Villains merchandise available.
• One Notorious Item to Note: While the Villains will be entertaining Guests in the new stage show, they will not be participating in character greetings during the event.

During this special ticketed event Guests can get in as early as 7:00 p.m. to experience the Happily Ever After fireworks before hitting more than 25 attractions and experiences with little to no wait!

Disney After Hours events will return for select dates in January, February and March 2018!

If you’ve not heard of Disney After Hours, it is an nighttime event limited to a small number of Guests, allowing you to maximize your time in the park with little to no wait at 25 attractions and experiences, like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid, Space Mountain and many more. The Disney After Hours ticket allows park entry as early as 7 p.m., which gives you allows you to enjoy the park’s nightly “Happily Ever After” fireworks and then remain in the park until 11 p.m. or 12 a.m. depending on the night.

Disney After Hours event nights are currently set for January 19, 26, and 30; February 8 and 15; and March 1 and 8, 2018. (Please note that Disney After Hours does not replace Extra Magic Hours for Disney Resort Guests and are held on non-Extra Magic Hour dates.)
