As midnight approaches everyone can gather around Discovery Island and Asia to watch a special New Year’s Eve countdown on the iconic Tree of Life. Energetic music and lighting displays will welcome in 2020.

First up, rooftop celebrations: Walt Disney World Resort now features three amazing rooftop New Year’s Eve celebrations – at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Gran Destino Tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort and at Disney’s Riviera Resort (scheduled to open later this year).

Feliz Ano Nuevo: A New Year’s Eve Party at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort

Celebrate the New Year with an elegant party at Tolédo – Tapas, Steak & Seafood, the new rooftop restaurant at the top of Gran Destino Tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. This special celebration features a savory menu inspired by traditional Spanish New Year’s cuisine. Entertainment includes an electric flamenco guitarist who will delight during your meal with exciting melodies alongside a DJ in Dalhia Lounge who will lead the New Year countdown! And from the windows of the restaurant and the Dalhia Lounge balcony, you will take in spectacular views of Walt Disney World Resort with glimpses of incredible Disney fireworks displays in the distance.

Mezzanotte at Topolino’s: An Italian Masquerade at Disney’s Riviera Resort

Wear your most luxurious red finery to this elegant rooftop restaurant and don custom colorful masks at this special New Year’s Eve party. This Italian masquerade ball comes alive with an exciting DJ, Champagne toasts, and traditional musicians and vocalists from the Italian Riviera, all while featuring buffet displays, á la carte tapas-style dishes, and action stations where Disney chefs create dishes right in front of Guests! Countdown to Midnight: A New Year’s Celebration at Disney’s Contemporary Resort

This extraordinary soiree will be filled with sensational cuisine, live music, dancing and unique photo opportunities. The Fantasia Ballroom at Disney’s Contemporary Resort becomes the setting for a sensational evening where you can wander through tempting tasting stations and indulge in an assortment of libations for party-goers of all ages before partying it up on the dance floor. Delight in a stunning display of culinary sorcery and personal interactions with the Disney Chefs as they build sensational bites inspired by Disney signature restaurants from across Walt Disney World Resort. With a live band providing the backdrop, you will be able to dance and dine all the way to the New Year. At midnight, Guests can celebrate with a toast at a special ground-level viewing area near the porte cochére while they take in the spectacular sights of the famous New Year’s Eve fireworks display at Magic Kingdom Park.

Ink & Paint Club at Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Enjoy a pre-party add-on for the Countdown to Midnight: A New Year’s Eve Celebration. This special reception is inspired by the iconic Walt Disney Animation Studios Ink and Paint Department. Guests will also enjoy a private area throughout the evening and, after 11 p.m., an exclusive outdoor private viewing of the Magic Kingdom Park fireworks complete with desserts and a Champagne toast. You may even see some familiar friends hanging out for fun photo opportunities!

NOTE: This experience is only available as a combined event ticket with Countdown to Midnight: A New Year’s Eve Celebration. 

Pixar Party: A New Year’s Celebration

Take a trip down memory lane to your own playful beginnings with the Pixar friends. From toys and monsters to supers and adventurers, Guests can ignite their childhood memories at this exciting event filled with family fun and delicious food!

Located on the second level of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, you will find two ballrooms have been transformed to immerse you in the imaginative world of Pixar.

Meet some of your favorite characters, dance with an interactive DJ, go to Boot Camp with Sarge and enjoy other fun-filled activities. You can also chow down on a Pixar-inspired buffet featuring dishes like Ratatouille, white cheddar baked mac and cheese, slow roasted beef tenderloin, crème brûlée tarts and much more. At the end of the night, Guests can step outside to enjoy the spectacular New Year’s Eve fireworks display at Magic Kingdom Park.

Disney’s BoardWalk Countdown to 2020 at Atlantic Dance Hall

Tons of fun and a late-night party will be on tap at the Atlantic Dance Hall this New Year’s Eve! You can kick off the brand-new year with rockin’ music, tasty treats, and a dash of Disney magic as they count down to midnight. This festive holiday celebration includes views of the Epcot Fireworks a live DJ, party hats and horns, a confetti drop, a mouthwatering light-bite menu with savory and sweet eats, and a complimentary Champagne toast at midnight. 

New Year’s Eve at Flying Fish

Celebrate the arrival of the New Year with family and friends surrounded in an atmosphere of elegance as you dine on a multi-course, prix fixe menu created by award-winning Chef Tim Majoras. Seatings are available from 5:00-6:30 p.m. and 8:30-10:00 p.m. on Dec. 31,  2019, with a sustainable seafood tower and intermezzo included in the second seating. 

A New Year’s Eve Celebration at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Revel in the festivities while tantalizing their taste buds with a special New Year’s Eve dinner waterside at Narcoossee’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. New Years Celebrations at Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Planning ahead for big holiday events is very important, and New Year’s Eve is right there at the top of the list. If you are looking for a unique experience outside of the theme parks, Disney’s Contemporary Resort is the place to be. But don't wait to book because party bookings are now available!

To ring in 2019, two New Year’s Eve celebrations are available at Disney’s Contemporary Resort: Pixar Party: A New Year’s Eve Celebration (recommended for families) and Disney Countdown to Midnight, including an option to purchase VIP access to the Ink and Paint Club (recommended for adults without kids). Both celebrations will feature entertainment, music, food and other refreshments, plus a viewing of the  New Year’s Eve fireworks at Magic Kingdom® Park to cap off the night. Here’s what else to expect at each party:

Pixar Party: A New Year’s Eve Celebration (8 p.m.-12:15 a.m.)

This New Year’s Eve, welcome in 2019 with a festive, family-friendly frolic through some childhood joys during Pixar Party: A New Year’s Eve Celebration at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Sarge from Pixar Animation Studios’ Toy Story films will welcome Guests as they arrive at the second floor of the resort. Once inside, Guests will discover spaces that have been transformed with scenes from beloved Pixar movies. Highlights of the evening include:

• Being enveloped in the worlds of various Disney•Pixar films, like “Inside Out,” “The Incredibles,” “Finding Nemo” and “Up,” including meeting some of your favorite characters.
• Kids’ activities, including Boot Camp with Sarge, Pixar Face Painting and a balloon artist creating favorite Pixar characters.
• An interactive DJ spinning Radio Disney hits from his Cars-inspired DJ Rig, complete with tires and road signs right out of Radiator Springs.
• A delicious buffet dinner, including Woody’s Favorite Lemon Thyme Chicken Breast, Wall-E’s Pan Seared Mahi-Mahi, Rex’s Manhattan Filet, Sulley’s Beast White Cheddar Baked Mac & Cheese, build-your-own salad options, desserts, kids’ favorites like chicken fingers and more.

Disney Countdown to Midnight (8 p.m.-12:15 a.m.)

This New Year’s Eve, dress up and party during Disney Countdown to Midnight – an evening of dining, dancing and enchantment in the Fantasia Ballroom at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Discover a world sparkling with magic – everything from a Mickey Mouse mirror ball to Disney Character topiaries – as you move and groove to the high-energy New Year’s Bash Band and a live DJ providing music all night long. Other highlights of the evening include:

• A “cheftainment” station featuring a seasonal menu inspired by some Disney Signature Dining restaurants – with a touch of Disney magic.
• A special appearance by Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse.
• At the end of the night, Guests will be invited out to the porte cochère, where they will receive a Champagne flute and welcome 2019 with a viewing of the famous Magic Kingdom New Year’s Eve fireworks.

Ink and Paint Club experience (7 p.m.-12:15 a.m.)

Offered only as a VIP enhancement to the Disney Countdown to Midnight party and located adjacent to the Fantasia Ballroom at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, this special reception begins prior to the opening of the main event. At the Ink and Paint Club, Guests will step back in time into a vintage Disney Animation-inspired room with silver Chiavari chairs, metallic tables and references to classic Disney Animation filling the room. Ticketed Guests can visit the lounge throughout the evening, starting with a featured reception from 7-8 p.m. Highlights of this special reception include:

• Photo opportunities with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse with a unique Disney Animation backdrop.
• A pianist providing live entertainment.
• Chef stations featuring king crab, tuna tartare, sheep’s milk ricotta gnocchi, cocktails, Champagne, cordials and more – all included with admission.
• Reserved seating in the Disney Countdown to Midnight Party when it opens at 8 p.m.

Disney Ink & Paint Club is only available as a part of an enhanced ticket that includes access to both the Disney Countdown to Midnight and the Ink & Paint Club for $450 total per guest. Down in New Orleans: A Disney New Year’s Eve Experience – Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Ring in the new year in style with Down in New Orleans: A Disney New Year’s Dining Experience inspired by the New Orleans French Quarter and Disney’s “The Princess and the Frog.”

Arrive at the Sorcerer’s Apprentice Ballroom of Disney’s Contemporary Resort and be surrounded by beautiful French Quarter-inspired décor and an array of stations that will immerse their senses in unique and extraordinary flavors, such as smoked salmon mousse cones and oyster beignets fried right in front of you. Then, when dinner time approaches, you will be guided to a premier dining destination for the main course of the night where you’ll be welcomed by art-adorned walls with visions of New Orleans. New Year’s Eve Bash at Atlantic Dance Hall – Disney’s BoardWalk

Atlantic Dance Hall at Disney’s BoardWalk invites you to ring in the new year with rockin’ music, tasty treats, high spirits and an enchanting dash of Disney magic. Guests can dance the night away while they enjoy tasty treats such as soft pretzels, churros, and other sweet and salty snacks. In addition, you can celebrate the new year with complimentary party hats and horns, a view of the sensational Epcot fireworks, and a champagne toast at midnight.

Dinner and Dancing Under the Sea – Flying Fish at Disney’s BoardWalk

Kick off the new year at Flying Fish with Dinner and Dancing Under the Sea. Starting at 7 p.m., Guests can enjoy a cocktail hour with scrumptious hors d’oeurves and a gorgeous and delectable seafood display, followed by a spectacular family-style dinner spread with sustainable seafood offerings and accompaniments. You will also enjoy a complimentary character artist drawing throughout the night and the opportunity to dance all night long to the tunes of a live 3-piece jazz band. Toast to the new year with champagne and a midnight celebration! Mickey’s New Year’s Eve BBQ – Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort

Join Mickey, Minnie and friends for a family-friendly barbecue at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort to celebrate the New Year at Mickey’s New Year’s Eve BBQ. During this special finger-licking, foot-stomping barbeque event, feast on mouth-watering items such as Bacon Jam Burger Sliders grilled on site, Wagon Wheel Mac’n’Cheese for the kiddos, and Mini S’mores served in Mason Jars!

In addition to this all-you-care-to-enjoy BBQ spread, Guests will enjoy the sounds of a live bluegrass band and a DJ. After dinner, cowpokes can mosey on over to the dance floor for line dancing led by Disney Friends! New Years Eve at Walt Disney World

There are three ways for you to ring in the New Year at Disney’s Contemporary Resort this year. These "can't miss" experiences, which are part of the Enchanting Extras Collection, and will enhance your Walt Disney World® Resort experience!

For an evening of dining and dancing, “Disney Countdown to Midnight” includes delightful dining, live music, libations and more. An interactive band and DJ will fill the dance floor (and we hear that Mickey and Minnie may make a special appearance). Plus, you can welcome in 2018 with a flute of bubbly and a viewing of those legendary New Year’s Eve fireworks at the Magic Kingdom® Park. The party takes place from 8 p.m.-1 a.m. in the Fantasia Ballroom and is designed for Guests 18 years and older. 

If you are looking for a family-friendly way to ring in the New Year, you'll enjoy “Pixar Party: A New Year’s Eve Celebration.” From Andy’s Room in “Toy Story” to Metro City with The Incredibles, this immersive celebration will include theatrical backdrops, dramatic set pieces and fun props that re-create the fantastic worlds of the Pixar films. And, of course, favorite characters will be on hand from “Toy Story,” “The Incredibles,” “Cars,” and “Up.” Kids can have fun with Pixar face painting, a balloon artist and a boot camp with Sarge, while an interactive DJ will spin hits from Radio Disney.  Dinner is buffet style.  At midnight, you can head outdoors to ring in the New Year with a viewing of the Magic Kingdom fireworks.  This event takes place from 8 p.m.-12:15 a.m in the Ballroom of the Americas. 

Fine dining is the theme of the third party, “Down in New Orleans: A Disney New Year’s Eve Dining Experience” in the Grand Republic Ballroom. Inspired by the Disney animated film “The Princess and the Frog,” the room is beautifully decorated French Quarter style to transport you to the Big Easy. Signature dishes will include herb-crusted Louisiana redfish, crayfish etouffee, Black Angus beef cooked two ways, braised short ribs and filet of beef with truffled celery root silk. A N’awlins jazz band will entertain during dinner, joined later in the evening by a vocalist who will bring to life the Academy-Award-winning classics from the film. You can slip outside with a glass of bubbly just before midnight to ring in 2018 with a private viewing area for theMagic Kingdom fireworks. This party takes place from 7 p.m.-12:15 a.m.

There is so much to do this year to celebrate the 2016 and welcome in the 2017 year!  From a gala dine-around at California Grill high atop Disney’s Contemporary Resort to celebrations around World Showcase at Epcot® and waterfront at Narcoossee’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, there are lots of ways for you to ring in the New Year at Walt Disney World® Resort.

California Grill New Year’s Eve Dinner – With spectacular views of the Magic Kingdom® Park, this dine-around style gala features cooking stations throughout the restaurant. Plus, a host of favorite Disney Characters will make appearances.

The event takes place from 7:30 p.m.-midnight. The price is $650 per person.  

Victoria & Albert’s New Year’s Eve Dinner – A luxurious evening in this AAA Five Diamond restaurant features gracious “butler-style” service, live harp music and personalized menus to remember the special evening. Seatings are available between 6-7:45 p.m. The price is $600 per person.

New Year’s Eve at Epcot World ShowPlace –This all-you-care-to-eat extravaganza is a real family affair featuring photo ops with fun vignettes for posing (but no Disney Characters) and Disney tunes. Seatings are available from 3-9 p.m. The cost is $72.90 for adults and $44.38 for children (ages 3-11). And, later in the evening, you can head out to the promenade for fireworks over World Showcase Lagoon to welcome 2017.

Monsieur Paul New Year’s Eve Dinner – In the elegant upstairs dining room at the France pavilion at Epcot, you can feast on a four-course, prix fixe menu of classical French cuisine. Six seatings are available on New Year’s Eve: 11:45 a.m., Noon, 2:15 p.m., 2:45 p.m., 5:45 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. The price is $110.81. Plus, a special late-night dinner with two seatings are available at 8:45p.m. and 9:45p.m. The price is $305.03.

Narcoossee’s New Year’s Eve Dinner – Located at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, this generous four-course menu is offered with seatings between 5 and 5:45 p.m. A five-course menu is offered with seating from 8:30-9:25 p.m. for a late-night celebration with live music. The first seating $150 for adults and $70 for children ages 3-9. The second seating is $255 for adults and $95 for children ages 3-9.
