Bringing Pandora - World of Avatar to Life

Want another behind-the-scenes look at Pandora – The World of Avatar? Good! Cause here is another behind the scenes look at this land which will open at Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park on May 27, 2017!

Walt Disney Imagineering is sharing a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at how their project team partnered with Lightstorm Entertainment and many of the original AVATAR filmmakers – including James Cameron and Jon Landau – to bring the new land to life. In this video, several members of the Pandora “Super Team” share what the experience of bringing Pandora – The World of Avatar to life has been like for them, and some of the amazing moments that have exceeded even their imaginations. Creating Pandora at Disney's Animal Kingdom

When Pandora – The World of Avatar opens at Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park this May, you will be able to explore a brand-new world unlike you’ve ever experienced before.

In the film AVATAR, the planet of Pandora featured an ecosystem all its own, with lush bioluminescent flora, precious fauna, and a culture of people who saw and respected the value of their precious planet. In order to create this new land for Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, the project team approached bringing Pandora to life as if they were building a real world – unlike one anyone had experienced before – based on the world in the film.

In this video, our friends at Walt Disney Imagineering share how Imagineers and Animal Programs worked together to create a uniquely interactive ecosystem exclusively for Pandora – The World of Avatar. The park’s Animal Programs department, which includes conservation biologists and scientists, lent their expertise in order to help the land seem as authentically real as possible. Check it out!
