Play Disney Parks Now at Pandora and Disney's Art of Animation

Two new interactive experiences are coming soon to the Play Disney Parks mobile app, which turns wait time into play time by giving you a variety of fun activities to enjoy.

Stories of the Enchanted Gallery at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort will be the first Play Disney Parks experience based at a Disney Resort hotel and will allow you to bring the art-filled walls of the lobby to life while checking in or enjoy throughout your stay. Through the app, you will be able to create themed art that transforms into living, breathing stories inspired by “Finding Nemo,” “The Lion King,” “The Little Mermaid” and “Cars.”


The ACE Guide to Pandora: Valley of Mo’ara Edition at Disney’s Animal Kingdom® will enable you to join Alpha Centauri Expeditions (ACE) on an adventurous journey as you explore the colors, cultures and creatures of Pandora. Scan the surroundings for exotic lifeforms, create indigenous music and experience other interactive gameplay alongside friends and family while learning all about this alien moon through interesting facts, trivia and activities. This experience can be accessed anywhere within the park, but is especially great when you are waiting in the queue line at the very popular Avatar Flight of Passage attraction.

Earn, collect and share several new Play Disney Parks achievements as part of these new experiences. And, while in the app, keep your eyes (and ears) open for some great new Apple Music* playlists featuring songs inspired by Disney animated films, Disney lullabies and even classic Disney tales read aloud.

Since debuting in June, the Play Disney Parks app has immersed guests further in the Disney stories they know and love, through themed games, Disney trivia, digital achievements, music and more – whether they are playing on Main Street, U.S.A. or waiting in line at beloved attractions. Be sure to download the app from the App Store or Google Play to be among the first to enjoy these latest enhancements.

New Pandora Utility Suit at Disney's Animal Kingdom

A 4.2-ton, towering mechanical suit is sure to stop you in your tracks at Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park. This new suit debuted yesterday, April 22, 2018. The new Pandora Utility Suit is inspired by the iconic Amplified Mobility Platform (AMP) suits of power armor from the epic film AVATAR.

Perched ten feet high, a human pilot straps into the cockpit of this exo-carrier and controls its powerful, yet agile movements. The giant walking suit was designed with articulated hands and a shoulder span of more than five feet.

As the suit traverses the land daily, its pilot will interact with Guests, share details about the land’s otherworldly landscape, and highlight the importance of preserving nature.

The Pandora Utility Suit continues the collaboration between Disney and Lightstorm Entertainment that first brought Pandora – The World of Avatar to life nearly a year ago. The suit will debuted 22 as part of the 20th anniversary celebration of Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World® Resort.

Pandora Wilderness Explorer Badges

By now, I'm sure you've heard about the banshees, bioluminescence and beauty of Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park. However,  did you know the Wilderness Explorer troop leaders have traveled there, too? Guests can earn two new Pandora-themed Wilderness Explorers badges when you learn more about the flora and fauna in the Valley of Mo’ara and compare observations of the natural world of Pandora to nature on Earth. 

Wilderness Explorers is a self-guided experience at Disney’s Animal Kingdom with 30 missions, ranging from animal observations to learning nature skills. Explorers earn sticker badges to place inside the program’s handbook.

With each badge, guests learn more about the different animals found at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and even ones found in their own backyard. The two new badges encourage participants to explore the wonders of nature – on Pandora and on Earth. When earning the new Botany badge, explorers learn about amazing plant adaptations using the example of Pandora’s Flaska reclinata, a plant that responds to touch. To earn the Ecology badge, explorers learn about relationships between organisms on Earth and on Pandora. 

If you are already a Wilderness Explorer, add the new Pandora-themed badges to their handbook or request a new handbook. Guests can pick up handbooks at various Troop Leader locations around the park, and badges can be earned daily from 10 a.m. until dusk, or 45 minutes prior to sunset when Gorilla Falls and Maharajah Jungle Trek close.

Wilderness Explorers troop leaders are eager to share their scientific observations with Guests and show them how they can take what you learned in Pandora back home to help celebrate the magic of nature on Earth.

Pandora - World of Avatar Now Open!

On Saturday, the highly anticipated land, Pandora – The World of Avatar, officially opens to Guests at Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park at Walt Disney World® Resort.

The largest addition in the history of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Pandora – The World of Avatar transports visitors to the moon of Pandora, where they can explore floating mountains and bioluminescent rainforests. They can also enjoy unforgettable experiences, like sailing down a mystical river to encounter a Na’vi shaman at Na’vi River Journey, or experiencing what it’s like to soar over Pandora on the back of a mountain banshee at Avatar Flight of Passage. 

The land alone is an attraction to explore in itself: during the day, you will be surrounded by a lush and vibrant landscape that boasts interactive Pandoran flora, pouring waterfalls and flowing streams.  Visiting at night, is whole new experience, as bioluminescent flora brings the moon of Pandora to life in delightful new ways.

Indulge in Na’vi culture by trying out cuisine at Satu’li Canteen, shopping for goods at Windtraders or even “connecting” with a banshee of your own at the Rookery.

Breakfast at Satu'li Canteen

Excitement over the debut of Pandora — The World of Avatar means that Guests will be arriving early each morning when the new land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park opens on May 27, 2017. These early mornings will go much smoother with full bellies - which leads us to breakfast! 

Guests can make a stop at fast-casual Satu’li Canteen, where a diverse breakfast menu will offer plenty of choices. On the savory side, there’s a hearty Vegetable Goat Cheese Frittata with Wood-Fired, Herb-Crusted Beef and Chimichurri; as well as Pork Shoulder Potato Hash with Chorizo Sausage and Natural Jus; or a Steamed Pod (bao bun) with Scrambled Egg, Bacon, Spinach and Pickled Vegetables.  

Prefer a sweet beginning to your day? Try the Tropical Pandora Forest Fruits with Yogurt Muesli and Vanilla Maple Syrup; Steel-Cut Oats with Whiskey Raisins, Marcona Almonds, Goji Berry; or Cinnamon Swirl French Toast with Blueberry Cheesecake Dollop and Passion Fruit Anglaise.

For children ages 9 and younger, there’s three tasty meals to choose from: Cinnamon Swirl French Toast with Blueberry Cheesecake Dollop and Passion Fruit Anglaise; a Scrambled Egg Steamed Pod (bao bun); and cereal and milk.

Mobile Ordering at Pandora - World of Avatar & Beyond

A new food ordering service, Mobile Order, is debuting in Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park. 

Mobile Order will be available at Satu’li Canteen restaurant on Pandora - World of Avatar's opening day – May 27 – and then expanding to Pizzafari, Flame Tree Barbecue and Restaurantosaurus during the summer! And better yet, more Mobile Order fast casual and quick service locations across Walt Disney World® Resort are on the way.

Mobile Order, which can be found in the My Disney Experience app, offers the added convenience of being able to place orders and purchase meals on-the-go.  Select menu items, customize orders and pre-pay for meals during park visits – all within the app. 

It’s easy to do. After your order is placed, pre-pay in the app and arrive at Satu’li Canteen, they'll tap the “I’m here” button. That will notify the kitchen to prepare their meal. When ready, you will be alerted through the app to pick up their meal at the designated window with the Mobile Order pick-up sign.

Please note during the initial launch period of Mobile Order, the only form of payment accepted will be by credit card. Anyone with special dietary restrictions, or those who want to use discounts or redeem dining plan entitlements must place their order with a cashier.

Meet the Na'vi Shaman from Pandora - World of Avatar

The opening of Pandora – The World of Avatar is less next week! Here is a look at the Na’vi Shaman of Songs, a character who guests can spot within the Na’vi River Journey attraction (the all heights attraction in this new land).

Encountering the shaman is a highlight of this fun family attraction, where you will sail down a mysterious river hidden within a bioluminescent rainforest filled with glowing plants and wondrous creatures. The river journey culminates when Guests spot the shaman, a figure who has a deep connection to the life force of Pandora and celebrates that beautiful connection through her music.

The Na’vi Shaman of Songs is the most complicated Audio-Animatronics figure ever created by Walt Disney Imagineering. Get a closer look in the below video!
