Snacks with Character

The Disney Parks have been an industry leader on the seriousness that is food allergies.  With every dining reservation that is made, guests are asked if any one in the party has any food allergies.  While dining, the restaurant chef's will meet with the table to disucss what is and isn't safe to order off of the restaurants menu for those suffering food allergies.  Now, the Disney Parks have taken it one step further and have introduced Snacks with Character.

Snacks with Character are great, off the shelf snacks for guest that have dietary restrictions due to food allergies or because of a lifestyle choice.  The Disney Theme Parks Merchandise teamed up with well-known suppliers to create treats and snacks that are gluten-free, nut-free and other allergy-friendly products.  There are 11 products in this new snack line and based on the pictures (from the Disney Park's Blog), we can see that the snacks include fruit and seed mixes and various types of cookies. We can also tell that some of the Snacks with Character will be a snack credit on the Disney Dining Plan!

These snacks can be found at merchandise locations at Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line ships and at Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa.  To be sure that your certain allergy isn't in the snack product - be sure to read the ingredient label and packaging prior to purchasing! I'll be getting a few of these on my next trip for a product review so stay tuned!
