Purple Magic Bands!

The Purple Magic Band has been used in the Magic Band promotional advertising for quite some time. There was only one small hiccup about that promotional advertising - guests couldn't actually choose the purple color for their Magic Band when it came to customizing your band.  This lead to many questions of why was it shown and when would it be available.  There was some hope last fall when it became available for purchase at Walt Disney World and various locations and you could even customize it too.  However, just recently has the Purple Band become available on the My Disney Experience page for guest to choose for their upcoming trips!

Like the other colors, you can also customize your Purple Magic Band to show a name (or something else as long as it is under 9 characters) on the inside of the band.  Will you be choosing the Purple Magic Band for your next Walt Disney World vacation?

Don't know what a Magic Band is?  Well the Magic Band is free for resorts guests at Walt Disney World.  The band is worn on your wrist and is an all-in-one wonder that contains your theme park tickets, FastPass+ selections, Dining Plan, room key and a credit card for food and merchandise purchases at select locations via an RDF chip. Everything you would need for a day at the parks is conveniently located on your wrist! Thus minimizing the things you need to take with you to the park!  And if you're like me, it also minimizes the things you might forget behind in your Walt Disney World resort room!

MagicBand on Demand

Have you been wondering where in the world you can get the purple magic band that has been shown on all the My Magic+ advertisements? MagicBand on Demand is where!  

MagicBand on Demand is a new station inside the Tomorrowland Power & Light Co. located near Space Mountain at Magic Kingdom® Park. In addition to the purple band, you also have the new option to create and personalize retail MagicBands at Walt Disney World® Resort. This new offering is similar to the D-Tech on Demand boutique first introduced in June 2014 at the Marketplace Co-Op in Disney Springs™ Marketplace.

At the Tomorrowland location, you can choose to create either a retail MagicBand or a D-Tech phone case.  When creating a retail MagicBand, you can choose from eight different MagicBand colors – including purple – as well as approximately 40 graphics. There will be a few MagicBand graphics that will only be found in this location that salute classic Magic Kingdom Park attractions and icons. In addition to artwork, the retail MagicBand can be personalized with a name printed on the outside.

Once designed, the retail MagicBand is printed in the location. The printers use UV ink which dries immediately and requires no cooling time. And, for the final step, the custom retail MagicBand can be either associated to your My Disney Experience account, or given to friends and family who plan to visit Walt Disney World Resort soon. The cost for a custom retail MagicBand is $21.95, while a personalized retail MagicBand is $29.95.
