Pandora - World of Avatar Now Open!

On Saturday, the highly anticipated land, Pandora – The World of Avatar, officially opens to Guests at Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park at Walt Disney World® Resort.

The largest addition in the history of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Pandora – The World of Avatar transports visitors to the moon of Pandora, where they can explore floating mountains and bioluminescent rainforests. They can also enjoy unforgettable experiences, like sailing down a mystical river to encounter a Na’vi shaman at Na’vi River Journey, or experiencing what it’s like to soar over Pandora on the back of a mountain banshee at Avatar Flight of Passage. 

The land alone is an attraction to explore in itself: during the day, you will be surrounded by a lush and vibrant landscape that boasts interactive Pandoran flora, pouring waterfalls and flowing streams.  Visiting at night, is whole new experience, as bioluminescent flora brings the moon of Pandora to life in delightful new ways.

Indulge in Na’vi culture by trying out cuisine at Satu’li Canteen, shopping for goods at Windtraders or even “connecting” with a banshee of your own at the Rookery.

FastPass+ Now Available for WDW Resort Guests

Guests staying at select Walt Disney World® Resort hotels can now reserve Disney FastPass+ for the two attractions within Pandora – The World of Avatar starting today!  Walt Disney World guests can make their FastPass+ selections up to 60 days prior to check in. For all other Guests who have pre-purchased valid theme park admission, reservations will be available starting 30 days prior to their visit, beginning May 27, 2017.

Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park will transport you to a visually stunning world with floating mountains, bioluminescent plants and much more! It will also feature two one-of-a-kind attractions: Avatar Flight of Passage, where you will fly on a banshee over the world of Pandora and the family-friendly Na’vi River Journey, which will send you down a mystical river within a bioluminescent rainforest. You may select one of these two attractions in their first set of Disney FastPass+ selections, subject to availability.

And, as a reminder, for a limited time May 27 - July 4, 2017, Guests staying in select Walt Disney World Resort hotels will have the opportunity to experience Pandora – The World of Avatar with special Nightly Extra Magic Hours – from 11 p.m.- 1 a.m. This benefit is in addition to the Extra Magic Hours already available to select Walt Disney World Resort hotel Guests at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Valid theme park admission and a Resort ID are required.

Pandora – The World of Avatar: Opening Summer 2017!

Big news about Pandora – The World of Avatar! This new land will open at Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Park at Walt Disney World® Resort  on May 27, 2017.  That is so soon! Just in time for summer!

This new land will transport you to the visually stunning world of Pandora. You'll find floating mountains and bioluminescent plants, and can join the Na’vi on two excursions that take adventure to the next level. 

The family friendly Na’vi River Journey will send you through a bioluminescent rainforest. The journey will end in an unforgettable encounter with a Na’vi Shaman, a figure who has a deep connection to the life force of Pandora. And second, Avatar Flight of Passage will offer a  jaw-dropping experience of exploring the world of Pandora atop a Banshee.

You will be able to dine at Satu’li Canteen, grab a drink at Pongu Pongu or shop for Na’vi cultural items, toys, science kits, and more at Windtraders.

Pandora - The World of AVATAR is opening soon!

At the recent D23’s Destination D: Amazing Adventures presentation, additional details were shared about the opening of Pandora – The World of AVATAR at Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park! Guests can expect this area to open in summer 2017 at Walt Disney World® Resort!

This new land will be immerse guests in adventure and wonder with the following experiences: 

• Satu’li Canteen  is the main restaurant in Pandora – The World of AVATAR and will feature Na’vi art and cultural items.
• Windtraders is the merchandise location where travelers can find Na’vi cultural items, toys, science kits and more.
• Pongu Pongu is a special drink location with a design that is a eclectic as its Expat owner.
• AVATAR Flight of Passage offers the jaw-dropping experience of riding on a Banshee over the world of Pandora.
• Na’vi River Journey is a family-friendly experience that will send you down a sacred river hidden within a bioluminescent rainforest.
