New Magic Shots at Disney's Animal Kingdom!

When you visit Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park at Walt Disney World® Resort, you'll embark on an awe-inspiring adventure into the wonders of nature. As you explore, you can also let out your wild side with Magic Shot offerings available from Disney PhotoPass Service.

A variety of these special shots are available at Disney PhotoPass locations throughout the park, with the exception of Character Experience locations. All you have to do is ask the Disney PhotoPass photographer for a Magic Shot. These new Magic Shots include Pascal from Tangled, Flik from a Bug's Life, Kaa from the Jungle Book, Kion from The Lion Guard and a cute panda too!

And, with Memory Maker, you will get unlimited digital downloads of all your Disney PhotoPass vacation photos and videos for only $149 (as long as the package is purchased 3-days prior to your arrival date!).

Plus, once expeditions to Pandora – The World of Avatar begin on May 27, 2017, there will also be special shots available there from Disney PhotoPass Service as well.

Pandora – The World of Avatar: Opening Summer 2017!

Big news about Pandora – The World of Avatar! This new land will open at Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Park at Walt Disney World® Resort  on May 27, 2017.  That is so soon! Just in time for summer!

This new land will transport you to the visually stunning world of Pandora. You'll find floating mountains and bioluminescent plants, and can join the Na’vi on two excursions that take adventure to the next level. 

The family friendly Na’vi River Journey will send you through a bioluminescent rainforest. The journey will end in an unforgettable encounter with a Na’vi Shaman, a figure who has a deep connection to the life force of Pandora. And second, Avatar Flight of Passage will offer a  jaw-dropping experience of exploring the world of Pandora atop a Banshee.

You will be able to dine at Satu’li Canteen, grab a drink at Pongu Pongu or shop for Na’vi cultural items, toys, science kits, and more at Windtraders.

Pandora - The World of AVATAR is opening soon!

At the recent D23’s Destination D: Amazing Adventures presentation, additional details were shared about the opening of Pandora – The World of AVATAR at Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park! Guests can expect this area to open in summer 2017 at Walt Disney World® Resort!

This new land will be immerse guests in adventure and wonder with the following experiences: 

• Satu’li Canteen  is the main restaurant in Pandora – The World of AVATAR and will feature Na’vi art and cultural items.
• Windtraders is the merchandise location where travelers can find Na’vi cultural items, toys, science kits and more.
• Pongu Pongu is a special drink location with a design that is a eclectic as its Expat owner.
• AVATAR Flight of Passage offers the jaw-dropping experience of riding on a Banshee over the world of Pandora.
• Na’vi River Journey is a family-friendly experience that will send you down a sacred river hidden within a bioluminescent rainforest.

Authentic Details Bring to Life Pandora — The World of AVATAR at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

There’s an incredible lineup of new attractions and experiences coming to all four Walt Disney World® Resort theme parks this summer.  And among our latest updates, we also looked further into the future and shared new details on how Pandora – The World of AVATAR will come to life at Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park in 2017.

Imagineer Joe Rohde and Lightstorm Entertainment film producer Jon Landau shared a quick hint at what to expect in the new 12-acre land inspired by James Cameron’s film “AVATAR” during a special presentation at the Walt Disney World Resort.  They showed how the land will take on new life at night with bioluminescent flora and special nighttime immersive programming that’ll add a magical touch.

And how you will be transported to the world of Pandora – alive with amazing creatures and “glowing” ground beneath your feet.  Guests will also notice realistic details during their adventures, including special Na’vi artifacts seen throughout the land.  Stay tuned for more details on Pandora – The World of AVATAR, including the spectacular “floating mountains” and thrilling attractions coming to the land: AVATAR Flight of Passage and the Na’vi River Journey.
