New Spooky Experiences Coming to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Fall is just around the corner, and this year there is another reason to join the fun during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom® Park!

Taking place select nights Aug. 17 – Oct. 31, 2018, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary will add a few new twists and treats to this year's event.

The Mad Tea Party will take your for a colorful ride as new lighting and effects give a new spin on the night. Depending on the color of your costume, you may also transform under the new dancing lights. 

On Pirates of the Caribbean, new pirates invade experience, interacting with sailing Guests who will join the search for “Gunpowder Pete.” Arrrgh!

On Space Mountain, explorers will hurtle through deep space as a new soundtrack and special effects transform the adventure. 

Also new this year, Storybook Circus welcomes the Storybook Circus Disney Junior Jam, a dance party featuring favorite Disney Junior Characters, including Doc McStuffins!

As always,  dancing ghosts, the Headless Horseman, plus Mickey, Peter Pan and many more favorite characters return in the themed parade. The skies above come alive with a magical fireworks extravaganza and a spectacle that definitely goes bump in the night. Plus, the spellbinding “Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular” castle show returns, as the Sanderson Sisters take “stage fright” to another level. And, there are plenty of sweets for all trick-or-treaters, even allergy-friendly options.

Pirates of the Caribbean Attraction Update

Pirates of the Caribbean reopened at Magic Kingdom® Park yesterday (March 19, 2018), introducing guests to the new version of the attraction’s auction scene that was announced last summer.

Walt Disney embraced and encouraged Disney Parks to “keep moving forward” since the opening of Disneyland Park in 1955, Walt Disney Imagineering has introduced many new characters at Pirates of the Caribbean attraction over the years.

The pirate auctioneer now oversees a sale of the townspeople’s most prized possessions and goods. In this scene, the familiar redhead figure has switched sides to become a pirate named Redd, who’s just pillaged the town’s rum supply and has something to say about it.

The auction scene in the attraction at Disneyland Paris received a similar revision last year. Disneyland® Park will also receive similar updates to its Pirates of the Caribbean attraction later this spring, with work beginning April 23, 2018.

Disney Movie Magic at Disney's Hollywood Studios

The newest “must-see” show at the Walt Disney World® Resort – “Disney Movie Magic” – has debuted at Disney’s Hollywood Studios®! Here are more details about this one-of-a-kind cinematic experience.

Each night this summer, “Disney Movie Magic” is transforming the iconic Grauman’s Chinese Theatre at Disney’s Hollywood Studios with special lighting and state-of-the-art projection mapping technology to put you right in the middle of a celebration of Disney films.

Guests will be able to recognize many of the movie moments during “Disney Movie Magic.” The show features dozens of them, from Disney classics like “Mary Poppins” to contemporary blockbusters such as “Pirates of the Caribbean,” the Indiana Jones adventures and “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.” Also, each high-energy show spans a variety of different genres including musicals, romance, comedy, classics, fantasy, sci-fi and adventure.

New Disney PhotoPass Option at Magic Kingdom

Yesterday (June 19, 2017) marked a new ride PhotoPass option at the Magic Kingdom! At Pirates of the Caribbean, Disney PhotoPass Service will be at the helm ready to capture whether a pirate’s life is for you, or if you're more likely to strike your colors and run up a white flag.

As riders exit a haunted grotto and dive into the Golden Age of Piracy, a Disney PhotoPass camera will capture the perfect treasure of their swashbuckling voyage.  

To preview, purchase and download this attraction photo, riders must be wearing an active MagicBand linked to their My Disney Experience account. Their photo will be automatically associated to their account, where it can be viewed at MyDisneyPhotoPass.com and in the My Disney Experience mobile app alongside all of their vacation memories from Disney PhotoPass Service.

You can receive all of their Disney PhotoPass vacation photos from Walt Disney World Resort, including attraction photos, with Memory Maker.*

Tortuga Tavern - New Menu!

Announcing more changes at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World Resort!  Yesterday, October 14, was the first day of the new menu at Tortuga Tavern.  Tortuaga Tavern is a quick-service restaurant located in Adventureland, across the way from the Pirates of the Caribbean gift shop exit.

Here is what the Disney Parks Blog had to say along with some of their pictures:

New menu items include barbecue sandwiches with either pulled pork, sliced beef brisket or grilled chicken breast, all served on Texas toast with beans and cole slaw. Vegetarians, or anyone looking for a lighter meal will enjoy the roasted corn and vegetable salad, served with vinaigrette dressing. Barbecue beef brisket or chicken can also be added to the salad.

Tortuga Tavern is a "seasonal" quick service location that tends to open when park crowds are high.  Even with this new menu debut, this quick-service location, it is still being billed as a "seasonal" locations so best of luck trying to get your BBQ fix while in the Magic Kingdom!
