Guardians of the Galaxy Coaster at Epcot

At the D23 Expo Japan news was shared about the highly-anticipated “Guardians of the Galaxy”-themed attraction coming to Epcot at Walt Disney World – and yes, it’s a roller coaster!

This “Guardians of the Galaxy”-inspired coaster is going big. This one-of-a-kind family attraction will be one of the world’s longest enclosed roller coasters when it’s added to Future World at Epcot®. It’ll feature a unique story currently being created by Walt Disney Imagineering and include a new innovative ride system that’s guaranteed to “wow” Guests.

The “Guardians of the Galaxy”-inspired coaster is part of the ongoing work to transform Epcot into a place that’s more family, more relevant, more timeless and more Disney.  “As we build upon its core mission of optimism and hope to inspire the world, the real will become fantastic and the fantastic will become real—in whole new ways at Epcot,” Bob Chapek, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, said. 

The attraction will open in time for the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort.

DCL Marvel Day at Sea Details

Are you ready for the largest gathering of Marvel Super Heroes at sea? Marvel Day at Sea features exclusive character interactions where you will have a chance to meet astounding Super Heroes and a very extraordinary Villain.

Black Widow and Hawkeye will also join this epic event. They're assembling with nearly a dozen others from the Marvel Universe, including Black Panther and Loki who will make their very first appearance as part of a Disney vacation experience. Since Black Panther and Loki will be joining us all the way from the remote Kingdom of Wakanda and faraway realm of Asgard, the opportunity to see these two icons is extra special.

The event also marks the first official appearance of Iron Man, Star-Lord, Gamora, and Groot on a Disney Cruise Line ship. Rounding out the roster of Marvel Super Heroes that will be onboard are Spider-Man, Captain America, Thor and Doctor Strange.

Throughout this day long celebration, you will have the opportunity to see some of these legendary characters from the Marvel Universe up close and in person …

• Kids can train with some of their favorite Super Heroes in Marvel’s Avengers Academy.

New Attractions Coming to Epcot

Epcot® at Walt Disney World® Resort will receive not one, but two new attractions inspired by popular films.

First, a “Guardians of the Galaxy”-inspired attraction will be added to Future World, adhering to the original vision of Epcot’s Future World as the place to experience the excitement and adventure offered by space travel.

This is an addition we’re really looking forward to, as a “Guardians of the Galaxy” attraction – Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! – debuted at Disney California Adventure® park earlier this year to rave reviews from Guests. Epcot’s brand new E-ticket attraction will be based on the rockin’ and action-packed world of “Guardians of the Galaxy” and is the next step in how you can encounter these characters at the Walt Disney World Resort. Note: This new attraction will replace the current Universe of Energy attraction, which will close August 13, 2017.

Second, a Disney•Pixar’s “Ratatouille”-inspired attraction will also be added to the France Pavilion in World Showcase. The attraction will expand the pavilion. Similar to the 4-D attraction Ratatouille: The Adventure that opened at the Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris in 2014, you will be able to shrink to Remy’s size and scurry to safety in a dazzling chase across a kitchen with the sights, sounds and smells of Gusteau’s legendary Parisian restaurant.

According to Disney leaders, both attractions will open in time for the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World® Resort in 2021.

Disney Movie Magic at Disney's Hollywood Studios

The newest “must-see” show at the Walt Disney World® Resort – “Disney Movie Magic” – has debuted at Disney’s Hollywood Studios®! Here are more details about this one-of-a-kind cinematic experience.

Each night this summer, “Disney Movie Magic” is transforming the iconic Grauman’s Chinese Theatre at Disney’s Hollywood Studios with special lighting and state-of-the-art projection mapping technology to put you right in the middle of a celebration of Disney films.

Guests will be able to recognize many of the movie moments during “Disney Movie Magic.” The show features dozens of them, from Disney classics like “Mary Poppins” to contemporary blockbusters such as “Pirates of the Caribbean,” the Indiana Jones adventures and “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.” Also, each high-energy show spans a variety of different genres including musicals, romance, comedy, classics, fantasy, sci-fi and adventure.

Marvel Day at Sea - Guardians of the Galaxy Join!

Disney Cruise Line recently announced that our favorite characters from ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’: Star Lord, Gamora and Groot, will join other super heroes from the Marvel Universe on Marvel Day at Sea sailings onboard the Disney Magic starting this fall!

In addition, an adult-exclusive Marvel Day at Sea experience inspired by the Guardian’s interstellar adventures transforms Fathoms nightclub into a Ravager hideout with alien dance performers pumping up the energy before the Guardians arrive!

As Disney Cruise Line continues to develop additional experiences for Marvel Day at Sea sailings, stay tuned for additional details about these New York and Miami sailings!  

These Marvel Day at Sea sailings start on October 6, 2017 on the 8-Night Bahamian cruise from New York and continue on select sailings throughout the fall!

Marvel Day at Sea returns on Jan. 7, 2018 for a 5-night Western Caribbean cruise from Miami for select sailings throughout the spring.

Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! is Now Open

The rocking new attraction, Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! is now officially open at Disney California Adventure® Park.

This new adventure blasts you straight into the “Guardians of the Galaxy” story for the first time ever, alongside characters from the blockbuster films and comics. As you help Rocket bust his pals out of the Collector’s Fortress, you'll experience randomized ride experiences complete with all-new visual and audio effects and music inspired by the popular film soundtracks. Guests never know which adventure they'll get! 

This also marks the launch of Summer of Heroes at Disney California Adventure Park! Through September 10, 2017, this limited-time celebration features all-new epic adventures such as Avengers Training Initiative and Heroic Encounter: Black Widow as well as special themed merchandise and food available throughout Hollywood Land. Summer of Heroes will also launch the new Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance Off! which will invite Guests to join a rock ‘n’ roll bash alongside Star-Lord!
