Rey Joins “Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away”

The Force is strong at Disney’s Hollywood Studios®.  “Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away” has returned after a brief hiatus. This show, presented several times daily in the park’s Center Stage area, brings to life iconic moments from the Star Wars saga with compelling film clips and appearances by favorite Star Wars characters from Darth Vader to Chewbacca.

“Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away” celebrates all things Star Wars with unforgettable memories from the entire galactic saga. Now, Rey has officially joined the lineup, appearing on stage alongside lovable Resistance droid BB-8 and clenching a lightsaber in her outstretched arm, just as she did at the conclusion of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

And that’s not all that’s new! The incomparable nighttime show “Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular” was also recently updated, incorporating sequences that put you right in the middle of thrilling moments from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Star Wars: Galactic Nights Comes To Disney's Hollywood Studios

Star Wars: Galactic Nights, a new Hollywood-inspired special event will debut at Disney’s Hollywood Studios® at Walt Disney World® Resort on April 14, 2017. Come dressed as your favorite character and celebrate forty years of Star Wars milestones.

Here’s a taste of what’s on tap for Star Wars: Galactic Nights:

•Rebel Base Activities – The Rebel Base will serve as the event hub with multiple events, hosted shows and more taking place in the center of the park. The Rebel Base is the stop to see “Celebrate the Saga,” a 40-year history of Star Wars that features rarely seen imagery; join in on Star Wars dance parties and more.

•Watch “Inside the Saga: Celebrity Chat Show” – Catch a celebrity chat show in Epic Theater to learn more about the making of Star Wars films.

•Can’t miss Star Wars photo ops – Don your Star Wars finest and enjoy iconic Star Wars backdrops, including Han Solo cast in Carbonite, Jabba the Hutt’s Palace, the Hoth Wampa Cave and more.

•Galactic Nights Stars in Cars Motorcade – This procession will welcome in Star Wars celebrities down Hollywood Blvd.

•Imperial March & March of the First Order – Darth Vader will lead a battalion of Stormtroopers on a dramatic march down Hollywood Blvd to the Event Stage. Captain Phasma will also lead a unit of First Order Stormtroopers through the park, pausing to give a demonstration of power and strength.

•Seize the Saga Interactive Scavenger Hunt – Event Guests are challenged to collect eight clues in the form of puzzle pieces, one for each Star Wars film, at the party’s various photo stops. Each piece can be affixed to the back of the event lanyard to reveal a surprise.

•“Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away” – Watch high-energy clips of the best moments from the film saga juxtaposed with character moments on stage, featuring Chewbacca, Darth Vader, Kylo Ren and more.

•“Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular” – The skies will come alive with the power of the Force, as the park’s popular Star Wars-themed nighttime spectacular lights up the night.

Additional offerings will include the chance to experience Star Tours-The Adventures Continue attraction, Star Wars Launch Bay, AWR Trooper sightings, roaming Droids, Star Wars-themed food and beverage, special merchandise and much more.

The event will be held at the park from 7 p.m.- midnight. The Star Wars: Galactic Nights ticket costs $129 plus tax for adults and $124 plus tax for children ages 9 and under. Tickets for this event are extremely limited.

New Star Wars Guided Tour Starts January 2!

A new Star Wars Guided Tour, perfect for the ultimate Star Wars fan, is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios® starting January 2, 2017.  And reservations open now!

This brand-new, seven-hour tour will be led by a Star Wars “all-in-the-know” guide and will include: reserved viewing for “Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away,”; a journey on Star Tours – The Adventures Continue; an opportunity to participate in Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple (for Guests age 4-12); a guided exploration and character greetings at Star Wars Launch Bay; dinner at a quick-service restaurant featuring Star Wars-themed items; the Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party; and more.

The tour costs $129 per person (tax & gratuity included), Tours will be offered Mondays and Saturdays.

New ‘Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular’ Fireworks Debut Date

Several new Star Wars experiences have debuted at Disney’s Hollywood Studios® at Walt Disney World® Resort over the past year, from the opening of Star Wars Launch Bay in December to the most recent additions of the Star Wars stage show “Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away” and the daily march of Captain Phasma and her fleet of Stormtroopers earlier this spring. However, today I'm here to update you on the next exciting Star Wars experience that’s set to delight fans at Disney’s Hollywood Studios – the new Star Wars fireworks show, “Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular.”

Starting June 17, 2016, this new nighttime show, which will be the most elaborate fireworks display in this park’s history. This elaborate show will combine fireworks, pyrotechnics, special effects and video projections that will turn the park’s Chinese Theater and other buildings into the twin suns of Tatooine, a field of battle droids, the trench of the Death Star, Starkiller Base and other Star Wars destinations. And the show, which will feature music from throughout the film franchise, will be punctuated with a tower of fire and spotlight beams, creating a massive lightsaber in the sky.
