Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Parties will return to Magic Kingdom Park on August 16 – and this year, guests will receive the treat of the brand-new “Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular” fireworks show!



With just days to go until the big reveal, Disney Parks Live Entertainment has been putting the finishing touches on the spectacular – and cameras were on-hand to grab a first look.



In “Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular,” Jack Skellington from “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas” serves as host and has come to tell a “not-so-scary” story about how anything can happen on Halloween night. His ghost dog, Zero, flies off carrying everyone along on a trick-or-treating adventure, where four friends – Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy – find themselves drawn into a mysterious haunted house. Their journey takes them from one room of the house to another, encountering dancing skeletons, waltzing ghosts and a whole series of troublemaking Disney villains. The show will also include state-of-the-art projections and lasers, plus lighting and dazzling fireworks that will fill the sky above Magic Kingdom Park.

Universal Orlando’s Cinematic Celebration

Details have just been announced about this new nighttime show to debut at Universal Orlando Resort this summer! 

This epic new show will light up the night at Universal Studios Florida™ with a colossal celebration of music, water and light that transforms the park and takes you into the movies like never before.  As music from the world’s biggest films fill the air, scores of shining, dancing fountains erupt.  At the all-new Universal Orlando's Cinematic Celebration massive walls of water blaze with incredible movie moments and powerful projections bring the entire waterfront into the movies.  You’ll witness moments from the Harry Potter series conjured to life by way of spells, see and hear roaring dinosaurs from Jurassic World, feel the adrenaline rush of high-speed cars from Fast & Furious, watch the mischievous antics of the Minions from Illumination’s Despicable Me, and so much more. 

And, it’s all seamlessly projected on full panoramic water screens, accented by pyrotechnics and – for the first time ever – more than 120 dancing fountains with projection mapping. The entire waterfront of the Universal Studios lagoon and surrounding buildings will transform into a vivid celebration of epic movie moments and beloved characters.

The show will take place at the lagoon at Universal Studios Florida where they are building a permanent, dedicated viewing area for the show in the Central Park area of Universal Studios where you’ll be able to watch the lagoon come to life.

“Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular” will light up Disneyland® Park throughout Pixar Fest, beginning April 13, 2018. This all-new nighttime spectacular will celebrate friendship through dazzling pyrotechnics and memorable music.  

The stories of “Together Forever” will come to life through projections on iconic park locations: Sleeping Beauty Castle, the water screens of the Rivers of America, the façade of “it’s a small world” and the buildings of Main Street, U.S.A. This nighttime spectacular will even feature Buzz Lightyear and the house from “Up” flying over Sleeping Beauty Castle!

"Once Upon a Time" Comes to Magic Kingdom

Today's bad news: Another Magic Kingdom favorite will be saying goodbye.  This time it is Celebrate the Magic.

However, there is good news!  The GOOD news: An awesome Disney favorite will be replacing it!

"Once Upon a Time" will debut at Magic Kingdom® Park at Walt Disney World  starting November 4th!  This new nighttime show uses projection-mapping technology to produce a dazzling three-dimensional effect that fits every nook and contour of the Castle, from its base to the tips of its towers and turrets.

The result: Cinderella Castle opens like a storybook and becomes living art, the canvas for a kaleidoscopic and eye-filling feast of fantasy.

Coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the timeless animated classic, Disney’s "Beauty and the Beast," the new projection show is narrated by Mrs. Potts who shares "once upon a time" bedtime stories with Chip.

Projected scenes let you relive some of your favorite Disney moments.  Fly with Peter Pan high above the rooftops of London to Never Land, drop in on a whimsical tea party hosted by the Mad Hatter and watch Winnie the Pooh rise to the top of the Castle while he hangs from a colorful balloon. These are just some of the enchanting tales that come to life in “Once Upon a Time.”

The awe-inspiring show culminates with classic scenes from "Beauty and the Beast" – the Beast waltzing with his beloved Belle, his duel with Gaston, and finally his transformation back to the Prince. As Mrs. Potts and Chip conclude their bedtime story, the show moves to its grand finale including appearances by characters from some of Disney’s most beloved animated tales. Fireworks bursting above the Castle add to the magic.

Official Update on Nighttime Experiences at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park

Disney has released a statement about the Rivers of Light show delay:

"With the expansion of Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park, we’re excited to give Guests even more opportunities to celebrate the magic of animals and nature as day turns into night. While we’d hoped to debut these offerings on April 22, unfortunately, they will not open as planned on that date as we give the team more time to bring these innovative experiences to life in a way we know will exceed our guests’ expectations. 

We’ll share more information about timing by mid- to late May. We checked in recently during rehearsals of two key elements of the nighttime experience at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park: the dramatic water and light show Rivers of Light, and the new nighttime magic at the Tree of Life.

The highly anticipated Rivers of Light show at Disney's Animal Kingdom debut will be delayed.
