Brunch Now Available at Lamplight Lounge at Disney California Adventure Park

On Saturdays and Sundays, Lamplight Lounge at Disney California Adventure is now serving up brunch in the downstairs dining room. Sit back and relax while they taking in the views of Pixar Pier and indulge in a delicious brunch menu featuring a variety of unique dishes and cocktails. 

One of the favorite dishes on the menu is the Indulgent French Toast with cinnamon-brown sugar challah bread, Irish cream whip, maple syrup, and macerated berries garnished with a crunchy piece of house-made almond brittle. For a little protein, take a bite out of the Brunch Burger, which features a grilled custom burger blend served with American cheese, one egg, roasted green chile, lettuce, and paprika aïoli on a toasted Amish bun. If eggs are more your style, then the Crab and Potato Cake Benedict or the Egg White Frittata Bake are for you. The Crab and Potato Cake Benedict comes with sautéed spinach, soft poached eggs, chipotle hollandaise, and fresh fruit. And the Egg White Frittata Bake features hen of the woods mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes, roasted peppers and onions, smoked salmon, goat cheese sour cream, avocado, and confit potatoes.

Other entrées include Potato Flautas and Lamplight Chilaquiles. The Potato Flautas are made with plant-based chorizo, vegan piquillo crema, serrano-tomatillo salsa, arugula salad, and escabèche. The Lamplight Chilaquiles feature house-made tortilla chips with cheddar-jack cheese, two eggs, queso fresco, red onions, cilantro-serrano sour cream, and sliced avocado, topped with a 3-chile red sauce and pepitas. 

Also try the New York Avocado Toast with sourdough, avocado mash, New York Steak, one egg, piquillo-butter sauce, arugula salad, pickled red onions, and confit potatoes.

And we can’t forget the kiddos! On the Budding Artists menu, kids can choose from a Brunch Quesadilla or an Omelet (both served with egg whites and cheddar-jack cheese), a smaller portion of the Indulgent French Toast, or a Mini Brunch Burger.

For the adults, hand-crafted specialty beverages include options such as the Beermosa with blood orange IPA and fresh orange juice and a Cinnamon Toast Cocktail with vanilla vodka, hazelnut and cream liqueurs, and cinnamon cereal-infused milk. ‘Tale of the Lion King’ Debuts at Disney California Adventure Park

An all-new, original outdoor musical theater production, “Tale of the Lion King,” has debuted at Disney California Adventure® Park at Disneyland Resort. This new stage show celebrates the characters and music of Disney’s “The Lion King” in an imaginative and unique way. The lead narrator, Mwongozo (Swahili for “guide”) leads a troupe of 18 performers called the Storytellers of the Pride Lands in this adaptation. The performance is presented in a contemporary story-theater style that retells the tale through language, song and dance.

“The approach that we’ve taken with ‘Tale of the Lion King’ is that this is a story that was passed on from generation to generation, and now it’s come here to Disney California Adventure Park,” said Susana Tubert, Creative Director, Disney Parks Live Entertainment. “The Storytellers of the Pride Lands have come to share this ancestral story of how a cub became a king.”

Enjoy new musical arrangements of favorite songs, including “Circle of Life,” “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” and “Hakuna Matata,” among others. The live drumming and singing, along with the set and costumes all celebrate the cultural roots of this beloved Disney story. Check out our first peek below!

Behind the Scenes of ‘Tale of the Lion King,’ Coming June 7 to Disney California Adventure Park

This summer, Disney California Adventure® Park celebrates the beloved characters and music of Disney’s “The Lion King” with an imaginative new adaptation of this timeless story, presented as a highly-theatrical outdoor musical production entitled, “Tale of the Lion King.” The show features a cast of 18 performers – including actors, singers, dancers and drummers – who form an ensemble called the Storytellers of the Pride Lands. This traveling troupe specializes in retelling revered stories in their own contemporary style, weaving their tale through language, song and dance.

Creative Director Susana Tubert and the team at Disney Parks Live Entertainment are in the midst of a series of workshops and rehearsals with the cast in preparation for the opening of “Tale of the Lion King” later this summer. Here’s a look behind the scenes.

In this imaginative story-theatre production, the scenic, prop and costume designs celebrate the spirit of Africa. All-new musical arrangements have been written for the most treasured songs from “The Lion King,” creating a score for the show with elements we associate with the emotional sweep of the original compositions, yet focused on the vocal performances of the actors and music from the drummers to drive a unique percussive sound.

‘Mickey’s PhilharMagic’ Now Open at Disney California Adventure Park

The 3D movie musical “Mickey’s PhilharMagic” is now at Disney California Adventure Park! Head to Hollywood Land to see the spectacular magic of Disney animation and music jump to life on the screen and walls of the Sunset Showcase Theater.

Enjoy watching Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and other favorite Disney characters come to life! As Donald prepares the orchestra for Mickey, he comes across the conductor’s baton and Mickey’s Sorcerer’s Hat. A little magic goes a long way and proceedings go awry! Donald is unexpectedly plunged into a high-definition 3D dream world and you are taken along for the ride.

New Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party Coming to Disney California Adventure Park

Trick or treat! Disneyland® Resort is bringing a new event to Guests of all ages this Halloween season: Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party at Disney California Adventure® Park. This separate-ticket party treats Guests to multiple new experiences that are fun for the entire family, from the new “World of Color” spectacular – “­Villainous!,” to an interactive “Descendants”-inspired dance party, a stage show with Mickey Mouse, and a mysterious Disney villains walk-through experience.

Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party will add to the fun of Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort, celebrated from September 6 through October 31, 2019.

Highlights of the new separate-ticket event include:

• “Villainous!” – The new “World of Color” show weaves a Halloween tale about a young girl named Shelley Marie. This twisted tale carries Shelley on an unforgettable journey, exploring the villainous side of Disney characters through fountains, lights, lasers, projections and special effects. “Villainous!” shows that, deep down, there’s a little villain in all of us.
• Redwood Creek Challenge Trail – Transformed into a wondrous and ethereal world of Disney villains unlike anything seen before, Redwood Creek will be tricked out in a dreamlike environment. This new experience unfolds in a series of scenes, each creating a hauntingly beautiful dream-space of color, sound, light and shadows, as stories emerge from the darkest night to create an enchanting world.
• Immersive Treat Trails – Enjoy trick-or-treating at the new, wonderfully wicked treat trails throughout the park. Iconic characters such as Mad Hatter from Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland,” or even Oogie Boogie himself will surprise and delight. Additional treat trails will feature oversized cauldrons full of treats for all Guests to enjoy.
• DescenDance – A new pulsing party in the Backlot area of Hollywood Land is inspired by the popular “Descendants” franchise from the Disney Channel. As the DescenDance begins, a spell is cast, summoning the greatest dance crew from the Isle of the Lost to throw down and lead everyone in moves that are set to the biggest hit songs from the “Descendants” films.
• “Frightfully Fun Parade” – The Guest-favorite parade is coming to Disney California Adventure Park for the first time! The Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow starts the procession, followed by Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse who lead the cavalcade of characters and many mischievous Disney villains who are ready to stir up some trouble along the parade route.
• Mickey’s Trick and Treat show – Perfect for young Guests, this new, interactive stage production invites kids of all ages to join Mickey Mouse and his pals as they throw a one-of-a-kind Halloween party! Enjoy dancing, not-so-frightening scary-tales, and candy at the Disney Theater in Hollywood Land.
• Character encounters – Meet beloved Disney characters ­– and villains, too. You may be surprised at who you discover at this Halloween party, ready for photos and greetings! 

Oogie Boogie Bash 2019 will take place on the following dates: 

• September: 17, 19, 22, 24, 26, 29, 
• October: 1, 3, 6, 8, 10, 13, 15, 17, 20, 22, 24, 27, 29 and 31

Entry to Disney California Adventure Park before the party is included with an Oogie Boogie Bash ticket. The after-hours party begins at 6 p.m. PT and Guests will have the opportunity to play in the park for three hours before the event starts on Tuesday and Thursday nights (excluding Oct. 29 and Oct. 31) or four hours on Sunday nights, plus Oct. 29 and Oct. 31.

See Bo Peep from Disney•Pixar’s ‘Toy Story 4’ at Disney Parks This Summer

Bo Peep, from Pixar Animation Studios’ “Toy Story” films, will be making special appearances at Disney Parks starting this summer. Meet Bo when she finds her way to Disneyland Paris, Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure park and Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. She’ll also be traveling across the Pacific to visit Disney Parks in Asia!

In “Toy Story 4,” when Bonnie takes the toys on her family’s road trip, Woody ends up on an unexpected detour that includes a reunion with his long-lost friend Bo Peep, whose adventurous spirit and life on the road belie her delicate porcelain exterior. Woody and Bo are worlds apart when it comes to life as a toy, and they soon realize that’s the least of their worries.

The one and only Captain Marvel makes a triumphant arrival in Disney California Adventure® Park! As her jet fighter is being readied for a special mission at Hangar 12 in the northeast corner of Hollywood Land, Captain Marvel lines up a gathering of recruits for a Heroic Encounter and inspires them to go Higher, Further, Faster. Now in theaters, Marvel Studios’ “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure that follows the journey of ace Air Force pilot Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the most powerful heroes in the universe. Jessie’s Critter Carousel to Open at Pixar Pier

Pixar Pier, the reimagined land in Disney California Adventure® Park, shares the stories and characters of Disney•Pixar films with exciting attractions, themed neighborhoods and fun eateries. Some more exciting news for this area is that Jessie’s Critter Carousel will open in April!

Mosey on over to a giant toy carousel starring Jessie, the yodeling cowgirl and a friendly bunch of desert critters for a rootin’, tootin’ romp. Inspired by the “Toy Story” films, this attraction invites you to saddle up on a whimsical snake, armadillo, turtle, bunny and more from the world of Woody’s Roundup.
