New Adventure Coming to Star Tours This Fall

Earlier this year we were told about a new adventure coming to Star Tours – The Adventures Continue at Disneyland® Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios® that will place you in the middle of an epic battle. The action takes place on the planet of Crait, which we got our first glimpse of in the teaser trailer of Star Wars: The Last Jedi earlier this year.

Disney has shared that this exciting new sequence, inspired by the latest film in the Star Wars saga, will debut at Disneyland Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios® on Nov. 17, 2017.

Season of the Force - Disneyland!

During Season of the Force at Disneyland® Resort, you can transport into a faraway galaxy filled with epic encounters and thrilling attractions.

On Hyperspace Mountain, you can board the re-imagined Space Mountain attraction and join in a dogfight between Rebel X-wing fighters and the Imperial TIE fighters!

Then, step inside Star Wars Launch Bay to come face to face with some favorite heroes and villains from the saga. They can even explore replicas of movie props and models from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

If you want to experience hyperspace and outrun the Empire, hop aboard Star Tours – The Adventures Continue and fly through everyone’s favorite galaxy far, far away. And, young Padawans can really feel strong with the Force as they test their Lightsaber skills in an immersive show at Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple where they can face Darth Vader!

New Star Wars-Inspired Additions Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Beginning this month, Disney’s Hollywood Studios® will celebrate even more as favorite Star Wars experiences are updated and new experiences begin in 2017:

• Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away: AWR (Advanced Weapons Research) Troopers from the film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will debut during a new scene in the existing Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away daytime show. AWR Troopers are encased in specialized Stormtrooper armor with a dark, ominous gleam.

• Star Wars Launch Bay: This location will feature new props from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Making-of footage can be seen in the attraction’s behind-the-scenes film, “Meet the Makers.” Similar updates can also be found at Star Wars Launch Bay in Disneyland® Park in California.

• Star Tours - The Adventures Continue: Voyage changes are coming starting in mid-December, switching back to randomized beginnings (instead of starting each journey on the planet of Jakku) and final destinations.  

• Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular: This spectacular show will return nightly beginning December 16, 2016 in celebration of the theatrical release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, joining “Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!” as a second nightly fireworks spectacular at the park through December 31, 2016.

• Star Wars Guided Tour: Beginning in 2017, this seven-hour guided tour will be led by a Star Wars “all-in-the-know” tour guide. Your Clients will blast off on Star Tours – The Adventures Continue, get an in-depth, insider’s tour around Launch Bay, and enjoy Star Wars-themed menu items at Backlot Express. Plus, Guests age 4-12 will have an opportunity to participate in Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple. And, the finale of this unforgettable day includes themed sweets and specialty beverages at Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party, which also includes reserved viewing for the show!

Don't forget, the newest Star Wars movie, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story opens in U.S. theaters on Dec.ember 16, 2016.

New Star Wars Nighttime Spectacular Announced, Set to Make Theme Park History

Here are the just released plans for a new Star Wars show currently in the works involving a stage show and procession, as well as a nighttime spectacular so elaborate it’s rumored to make Disney’s Hollywood Studios history. 

This new history-making show will officially start on April 4, with the debut of the brand new Star Wars stage show, “Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away.”  The new show will play out iconic moments from the film saga on Center Stage (in front of the Chinese Theater), and will feature characters like Kylo Ren, Chewbacca, Darth Vader and Darth Maul. 

Also starting April 4, Captain Phasma will begin leading a platoon of First Order stormtroopers on a march from Star Wars Launch Bay to Center Stage multiple times each day!

This summer, Star Wars fans won’t want to miss the grand debut of a new Star Wars fireworks show, “Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular.” This new nightly show is the next generation of the current Star Wars-inspired fireworks show. The show will combine fireworks, pyrotechnics, special effects and video projections that will turn the nearby Chinese Theater and other buildings into the twin suns of Tatooine, a field of battle droids, the trench of the Death Star, Starkiller Base and other Star Wars destinations. The show will be punctuated with a tower of fire and spotlight beams, creating massive lightsabers in the sky. This new show will be the most elaborate fireworks display to take place in the history of Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

And don’t forget about the other recent Star Wars additions at Disney's Hollywood Studios. The Star Tours – The Adventures Continue attraction now features new characters and planets from the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens film.  Star Wars Launch Bay offers families an up-close look at replica props, models, costumes and more from the films, plus the chance to encounter with someone from Rebel Alliance or the Dark Side.  And young Padawans can put their bravery to the test at Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple, which now features the character of the Seventh Sister from the Disney XD series Star Wars Rebels.
